A recent compilation of footballers' favorite showed that children's books are top hits. Other books included are sporting autobiographies and high-brow novels. The book list includes The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Fantastic Football Poems by John Foster as well as Winter in Madrid by CJ Sansom. A complete list can be found here. What's your favorite?

Soccer blogging
The world is too small for lovers of The Beautiful Game. In my blog roll are some of the soccer blogs I've come across. They clearly illustrate why I love this game. I play in a ladies' team, more like a hobby than anything. We do compete with teams way younger than us. What the heck, we all have fun. So in the next few months is competition time. There are several 7-a-side tournaments in the offing. Not sure if I'd be fit to join any of it. Well oh well...

have been playing soccer since I was in high school. Why I love this game? It gave me confidence when my self-esteem was low way back in high school. I’ve kept playing since then, even now in my early 30s. With cable TV and the internet, there’s just so many things to know about The Beautiful Game. So this is my space to share the game with you.
